Duricef Uses Duricef is an antibiotic in a class of drugs called cephalosporins. It fights bacteria in the body. Duricef is used to treat many different types of bacterial infections such as bronchitis, tonsillitis, ear infections, skin infections, and urinary tract infections How to Use Duricef Take Duricef exactly as directed on the package or as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you. Take each Dose with a full glass of water.
It can be Taken with or without food.
Never take more of this medication than is prescribed for you. Duricef Side Effects This drug may cause following serious side effects :an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of the lips, face, or tongue, hives, or a rash), rash, redness, or itching, severe nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, mucous or blood in the stool, or unusual bleeding or bruising. Other, less serious side effects may also occur. Continue to take the medication and talk to your doctor if you experience mild nausea or diarrhea, or yeast infection of the mouth or vagina. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual. Duricef Precautions Tell your doctor your medical history, including: kidney disease, or a gastrointestinal (digestive) disease such as colitis.
Duricef should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Duricef should not be used without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy. As it might passes into breast milk and may affect a nursing infant. Ask your doctor Before breast-feeding a baby. Caution is advised when this product is used in the elderly since this group may be more sensitive to side effects.
Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. Duricef may increase the sensitivity of the skin to sunlight and sunburn may be more likely to occur. If exposure to the sun is unavoidable, wear a sunscreen and protective clothing. Duricef Drug Interactions Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you are using, especially : probenecid (Benemid), a loop diuretic (water pill) such as furosemide, bumetanide (Bumex), torsemide (Demadex), or ethacrynic acid (Edecrin), warfarin (Coumadin), or another antibiotic.

Duricef Missed Dose If you miss an Duricef dosage, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
Duricef Storage Store Duricef at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from sunlight and moisture.
