Cleocin Uses Cleocin is an antibiotic. It fights bacteria in the body. It is used to treat bacterial infections. Because of its side effects, Cleocin is usually only used to treat serious infections. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual. Cleocin Precautions Tell your doctor your medical history, including: liver disease, kidney disease, or stomach or intestinal disease. Cleocin should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Cleocin should not be used without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy.
