Cilexetil Uses Cilexetil is in a class of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Cilexetil prevents the constriction (narrowing) of blood vessels (veins and arteries). Cilexetil is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). How To Use Cilexetil Take Cilexetil exactly as directed on the package or as directed by your doctor. Taking it at bedtime may prevent falls and injuries. Never take more of this medication than is prescribed for you. Cilexetil Side Effects This drug may cause following serious side effects : an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, closing of your throat, swelling of your lips, tongue, or face, or hives), or little or no urine. Other side effects are less serious. Continue to take Cilexetil and talk to your doctor if you experience, headache, dizziness, fatigue, diarrhea or upset stomach, muscle or joint pain or cramps, insomnia, or congestion or cough. Cilexetil Precautions Tell your doctor your medical history, including : have kidney disease,· have liver disease, or are taking potassium supplement (e.g., K-Dur, Klor-Con, others), or a potassium-sparing diuretic such as amiloride (Midamor), triamterene (Dyrenium, Dyazide, Maxzide), or spironolactone (Aldactone). Cilexetil should not be used without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy. As it might passes into breast milk and may affect a nursing infant. Ask your doctor Before breast-feeding a baby. Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Cilexetil may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with Cardizem. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines. Cilexetil Overdose If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, weakness, fainting, and fatigue. Cilexetil Notes Do not share Cilexetil with others. Cilexetil Missed Dose If you miss an Cilexetil dosage, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
